Thanks for visiting our site! Holly Schechter and Dave Ciskowski were married on Friday, October 20, 2006. We wanted to provide a place online where you could go to get details about the special day.
Our wedding was small. We have been blessed with a wonderful group of friends and family. Rather than try to include as many as possible, and spend almost no time with anyone, we decided to have a very small wedding. Please know that even if you were not with us physically, you were with us in our hearts.
This site will provide us with a way to share our wedding with a wider audience. We will provide details and information here, and we hope you'll all enjoy hearing about our special day. In addition, we'll provide information for those who are attending, particularly those coming from out of town. Thanks for taking a look and sharing in our joy!
We met in 1999, when Holly moved in to the north half of a Broad Ripple duplex; Dave already lived in the south half. We got to know each other and within a few months were dating. We moved in together in 2002, first renting a Broad Ripple bungalow, then buying it a few years later.
We were both born and raised in Indianapolis. Holly grew up on the north side, attending North Central High School. Dave grew up close to Speedway, attending Northwest High School in IPS. Holly went to college at Ball State University, while Dave traveled to the University of California in Berkeley. But we both came back to Indianapolis after school, and have pretty much been living and working here since.
Thank you very much to our parents for their love and support! Holly's father is Berton Schechter, and we hold loving memory for her mother Fay Schechter. David's parents are Thomas and Nancy Ciskowski.
We have a lot in common, including a love of travel; we have taken several trips together. In December of 2005 we planned a trip to visit a destination we'd both long wanted to visit: Yosemite National Park. We planned for a short but romantic visit, staying in cottages the historic and beautiful Ahwahnee hotel. We spent the weekend enjoying the beautiful Yosemite valley. Time and again we found ourselves in awe of the splendor of the magnificent glacial valley. And it was in the heart of the valley, in a meadow near the Merced river, with El Capitain and Bridal Veil Falls nearby, where Dave proposed and Holly accepted.
